The Family story of Margaret Murphy who came with her four sisters as assisted immigrants in 1840 from Tipperary to N.S.W. - exploring their ancestry in Ireland, and their lives in N.S.W.. The sisters all married: Margaret to Paul Walker; Jane Ellen to John Hugh Webb; Catherine to William Shepherd; Dorcas Ellen to Richard Daulton; Joanna to Philip/Phelyn Murphy.

Their brother, James Murphy, immigrated with his wife and two children in 1859. The author has also research other members of Murphy family who found their way to N.S.W., as convicts and as free immigrants.

Paul Walker arrived as a convict from Lincolnshire in 1829 on the "Morley" with a life sentence, leaving behind his wife and four children. Details are told of his life as an assigned convict on pastoral runs in the Liverpool Plains, where he eventually settled with Margaret on gaining his Ticket of Leave.
