My Life in Changing Times
by Nora Hinchen
Nora was born the year before World War II began, and life in Australia has changed a lot since that time – the launch of television, Australia’s military involvement in Korea and Vietnam, the stability of the Menzies era, the rise and fall of Gough Whitlam, the crimes that rocked Sydney, multiculturism, the improved status of women in the workforce and in society, the computer age and the Pandemic.
This is the story of Nora’s life: her long career in public libraries, her travels, her love of music, her friends. It is also a story of shifting social attitudes over the years. Although a positive person by nature, Nora questions some of the darker sides of modern life.
