Born into a mining family in the Hunter Valley, NSW, Bob Hunter grew up in the Hunter, later graduating from the University of New England. He went on to complete his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Sydney.
Bob’s career has been primarily in research, highly respected in his field. His academic career was principally at the University of Sydney, a former Head of the Chemistry Department, and later Pro-Dean of the Faculty of Science. He remains an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry.
His autobiography was written over several years, and published privately for family and friends.
